Not sure how this works? Let's make this quick so you can start earning ADA.

STEP 1.

Buy Cardano (ADA)

Choose a safe, simple, and secure crypto platform to purchase your Cardano (ADA).  We’ve provided three places below that we’ve used ourselves, and they have mobile and desktop versions available.

Coinbase

Coinbase was founded in 2012, serves over 43 million retail users, 7,000+ institutions, and has a global reach of over 100 countries.

Crypto.com

Crypto.com has over 10 million users, available in 90+ countries, and is currently the world’s fastest crypto exchange.

STEP 2.

Download a Cardano Wallet

Secure and store your ADA by transferring your coins from the exchange to one of the wallets below.  Exchanges can become unreliable, so it’s best to always have access to your ADA when you need it.

Daedalus Wallet

Daedalus is a secure wallet for the ADA cryptocurrency. Download and install the wallet so you can keep your ADA safe. The open-source wallet for ADA, built to grow with the Cardano blockchain.

Yoroi Wallet

Yoroi is a light wallet for Cardano. There is no need to download the blockchain when you open the wallet. So you are ready to send and receive transactions right away. You can buy/sell, stake, send & receive ADA right from Yoroi Wallet.

Adalite Wallet

AdaLite is an open-source client-side interface for direct interaction with the Cardano blockchain. Wallet supports Trezor & Ledger.

FAQ(s)

What is Cardano?

Built around peer reviewed papers, and approved by experts around the world, it is a 3rd generation technological platform that can be used to store value or send and receive funds.  Focused on interoprability, scalability, and sustainability, Cardano is a fully decentralized proof-of-stake blockchain platform.  With regulation in mind, Cardano wants to provide financial identities to all.

What is a Cardano (ADA) wallet?

You can safely store and access your Cardano (ADA) in an encrypted physical or digital wallet that adds another layer of security against threats of keeping it on an exchange.  Some physical hardware wallets are handy, but costly.  Other wallets, like the official wallet for ADA called Daedalus, is available for free on Windows and MacOS. With most of these options, you retain your keys, sleep better at night, and even earn more ADA by staking.

What is blockchain?

Blockchain is an online ledger in which transactions are recorded with a cryptographic signature called a hash.  Each digital record or transaction within the ledger is called a block.  The goal of the technology is to allow digital information to be recorded and distributed, but not altered or edited.

How does nspyr stake pool work?

The more stake delegated to nspyr, the better chances it has to produce a block. When nspyr produces a block, the pool operators and the pool delegators are rewarded with more ADA. There are two ways ADA holder can earn rewards: by delegating their stake to a pool like nspyr, or by running their own stake pool. Your ADA is 100% safe and never leaves your personal wallet. No lock-up period, and you can deposit and withdraw anytime you want.

Do I have to lock-up my ADA when I stake it?

No! There is no a lock-in period for staking. Your ADA never leaves your wallet and you can access it anytime with the same ability to withdraw, deposit, and spend any amount you wish. Think of it as a savings account that only you have access to.

What percentage (%) of pool operator rewards does NSPYR donate to Love146?

NSPYR has an agreement with Love146 to donate 10% of all pool operator rewards that it receives from the Ouroboros Protocol. 10% of all pool operator rewards will be withdrawn from the reward account, transferred to a designated Love146 wallet, sold at current market value, and then that value will be donated through Love146.org.

What is an epoch, and why does it matter?

An epoch is a measurement of time that is the equivalent of 5 days. When you stake to any Cardano pool, it takes approximately 15-20 days from when you stake until when you receive your first reward. After that, you’ll begin to receive rewards every epoch (5 days).

Do i have to send my ADA to an Address for staking?

No, Staking ADA never requires withdrawing your ADA from your wallet, we will never ask you to send your ADA to stake with us.

The roadmap to success.

What is the Cardano Roadmap?

The Cardano roadmap is a summary of Cardano development, which has been organized into five eras: Byron, Shelley, Goguen, Basho, and Voltaire. Each era is centered around a set of functionalities that will be delivered across multiple code releases.

While the eras of Cardano will be delivered sequentially, the work for each era happens in parallel, with research, prototyping, and development often in progress all at once across the different development streams.

The work of each era is gathered and presented on its dedicated page, representing years of effort. Here you will find an overview of the goals of the era, as well as descriptions of the core functional components, links to associated academic research, status updates, and even real-time code commits.

Bryon

1. Byron | Foundation

Byron was released in September 2017, and brought Cardano to the market by allowing users to send and receive transactions.  Byron is named after Lord Byron (1788-1824), who married Mary Shelley, and had a daughter named Ada Lovelace.

Shelley

2. Shelley | Decentralization

Shelly mainnet was released in July 2020, and allowed Cardano to offer staking and staking rewards through Proof-of-Stake (PoS).  Shelly is named after Mary Shelley (1797-1851) who was married to Lord Byron, had a daughter named Ada Lovelace, and was the original author of “Frankenstein”. Here, Cardano becomes fully autonomous just like Frankenstein.

Bryon

3. Goguen | Smart contracts

Goguen mainnet launched March 2021, and brought smart contracts and decentralized apps (DApps) on Cardano.  Goguen was named after Jospeh Goguen (1941-2006), who was a computer scientist that focused on algebraic semantics and formal verification.

Bryon

4. Basho | Scaling

Basho will make Cardano sustainable, implement a treasury model and on-chain governance, and it will allow it to scale as adoption progresses. Basho is named after Matsuo Basho (1644-1694),  a famous Japanese poet who wrote ‘old pond’.  Which told a tale of how a small frog, making small jumps, can reach an ocean.

Bryon

5. Voltaire | Governance

Voltaire will implement on-chain governance and help create democracy.  Voltaire is named after Francois-Marie Arouet (1694-1778), who was a famous 17th century French poet, writer and philosopher.  This step echoes Voltaire’s quote that reads, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”
